Meet the Instructor

Vanessa Russo is the owner and founder of Opus One Music. Her passion for music began in childhood through piano and guitar lessons and has grown into more than 30 years of dedicated study and performance.

In 2012, Vanessa began her teaching career at Music Academy of Acadiana in Lafayette, Louisiana, where she was honored with the Teacher of the Year Award in 2013. After returning to Covington in 2015, she continued teaching privately and has since helped students throughout the Northshore community discover and develop their musical abilities.

Throughout her career, Vanessa has performed for wedding ceremonies, played with several local bands, and served as the Director of Music for a local church, bringing a diverse range of real-world performance experience to her teaching.

With more than 15 years of teaching experience and inspiring hundreds of students of all ages, Vanessa is passionate about inspiring confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music. She believes every student learns differently, which is why each lesson is thoughtfully tailored to the individual's interests, learning style, and musical goals.
